Identifying & Solving for Inconsistency

Live Conscious operated in a fast-paced, sprint-based environment. While effective for product development, this approach often led to visual inconsistencies across various marketing materials. As a Senior Designer, I recognized a critical need for proactive Art Direction to establish brand cohesion.

There wasn't a formal 'brand redesign' initiative. Instead, I identified opportunities within individual sprint projects to subtly evolve and unify the brand's visual language, addressing gaps and setting new standards as I went.

Defining Key Visuals with Precision

One significant opportunity arose with the brand's 10-year anniversary. Without an extensive brief, I distilled the essence of the milestone into a refined logo system that was delivered on the first attempt. This project became a touchstone, demonstrating how a single, well-executed design could elevate the entire brand.

This wasn't just about creating a logo, it was about defining a versatile identity element that could seamlessly integrate across all brand touchpoints, from packaging to digital campaigns.

Revolutionizing Visual Assets with Early AI

In a sprint-driven environment, speed and quality are paramount. Facing tight deadlines and a lack of new product photography, I proactively developed a pipeline to create high-quality, aspirational lifestyle images using then-nascent AI tools (circa 2023) and advanced compositing.

This initiative transformed stale studio shots and 3D renders into dynamic, emotive scenes. It allowed us to launch new products with compelling visuals instantly, significantly reducing time-to-market and production costs while maintaining brand consistency.

Driving Consistency Across Every Touchpoint

My proactive approach extended to every visual asset, often navigating ambiguous briefs. When tasked with designing a new set of product benefit icons with minimal direction, I first developed a comprehensive set that seamlessly integrated with the brand's existing visual language.

However, when the brand team decided to pivot to a simpler aesthetic, I quickly adapted. In the same sprint, I redesigned the entire set, stripping down complexity while carefully retaining a connection to the core brand identity. This demonstrated my ability to respond rapidly to evolving creative directions without compromising quality or efficiency.

Beyond icons, I art directed numerous campaign assets, such as the 'New Year, New You' display ads, ensuring they aligned with the evolving brand aesthetic while achieving marketing objectives. Each 'sprint' became an opportunity to incrementally build a more robust and cohesive visual system, demonstrating how a consistent brand experience could be achieved through focused, high-impact design solutions.

Leadership Through Design

This body of work at Live Conscious wasn't about following a directive, it was about anticipating needs and proactively solving for them. By consistently delivering high-impact visual solutions—often on the first pass—I elevated the brand's aesthetic, streamlined content creation workflows, and fostered a more cohesive brand experience across the board.

The recognition from leadership affirmed the value of this proactive Art Direction, proving that strategic design, even within a sprint framework, can drive significant brand growth and efficiency.
